What is an average course load for a student?

Answer:

Average course load

Depending on your work and extracurricular schedule, you may want to design your college schedule around these time constraints. Full-time status is 12 credits and part-time is 6 credits or less.

A typical academic course requires two to three hours of outside preparation for each hour spent in class.  For example, a 15-credit load represents a commitment of 45-60 hours per week, consisting of 15 hours in class and 30-45 hours of outside work.
