How is a GPA calculated?

Answer:

GPA Calculation

Follow these steps to figure out your grade point average (GPA). Multiply the value of the grade (with 4 = A, 3 = B, 2 = C, 1 = D, and 0 = F) by the number of credits for each course to find out the grade point value for the course.

For example if you earned an A (4) in a 3 credit course, the grade point would be 12. Then, add the grade points earned for all your classes together. Finally, divide by the total amount of credit hours attempted. Your grade point average may range from 0.0 to a 4.0. S/U or pass/no pass classes, as well as incompletes, withdrawals, and courses transferred from other institutions are not figured into your RRCC GPA.
